Channelling Sandra B

Sea Stone Bracelet Set

Sister Madina must have known I had my work cut out for me when she asked for a Sandra Bullock look! I've picked two of my favourites, that I felt were most transferrable to the hijabi. I dont need to add scarf for you here, the purple look could use a bit of gold in it tho, dont overdo the purple lol! the casual look will work perfectly with one of Amena's white linen thin scarves under the trilby. If you want to know how this look would work I will demonstrate it for you in a future post. I've used harem jeans in the casual look to give us the looseness we require without losing our urban edge. I adore these long t-shirts, I definitely don't have enough in my life... the waterfall cardi is to die for, but I also couldnt resist including a cropped jacket option also. Yellow sandals to give bite, heeled or unheeled according to preference! altho for me I would choose a very low wedge heel for rushing about town with my son at the weekend. Love that little guy!

Take it ladies, make it yours! (And don't forget the Paparazzi defending shades...)

Salaams.

Hijabi style on the tube

I just managed to snatch a quick pic (with permission!) of this hijabista on the tube the other day. These photos do not do it justice, and I was requested to omit the face, but she was so hip it hurt! Fantastic look, absolutely adored it. I quite like the flying photography tho, much like the experience we have of just catching sight of a fantastic look walking past us on the high street. The shoe shot is very blurry, but it suffices to say that they were leather flip flops, embellished.

This Moroccan Bride - Love your face!

I had to share with you this beautiful picture of a Moroccan Bride. This is all my wedding day look fantasies in one little picture! (well, almost ;)) The colours are gorgeous, I find myself tempted by that beautiful mango orange possibly more suited to an apricot complexion like this lady's however! but you never know. While we're on the subject of complexion, I found a professional photograph of myself taken when I was 16/17 years old and guess what - the fine lines that I sometimes pore over in the mirror now were already present then! (most of them) so older ladies, next time you are concerned just ignore them and smile because the likelihood is they were there already - you just never bothered about them!

Desert Chic

At present my thoughts are focussed on my presentation for Muslim Hands on Monday. Insha'Allah they will be excited by my vision for '30 Days of Desert Prayer' to raise money for the war-orphans and affected families of Palestine. Please remember the cause in your dua'a ladies, I would be really grateful for your prayers. Depending on how the presentation goes, I will share my vision with you following the meeting! The laptop is of course to keep updating my blog during my desert time. And because it's pretty...
